If you’ve always wanted to visit some of my Miami’s more expensive attractions, this might be the week to do it. Grab your sunglasses and a soda bottle and enjoy discounted admission this weekend to Jungle Island and the Miami Seaquarium. Next weekend, you can visit ZooMiami for $5.
Jazz, inside and out
Friday night is a great night for jazz this weekend. You can hear the New Cuban Express and Manuel Valera at 8 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami, plus visit the museum free (a donation would be nice) from 7 – 10 p.m. Moreover,if you would like to listen to jazz inside, you can hear the Paul Ayick Quintet at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach, the first concert of the museum’s Hot Nights Cool Jazz summer series. Admission is $10, free for museum members.
Discount deals at two attractions
To celebrate its 10th anniversary , Jungle Island is offering $10 admission to all Friday to Sunday. At the Miami Seaquarium, fans wearing Miami Heat regalia get 50% discount for admission through July 7, but you must mention the Heat deal before buying your ticket.Admission to the Miami Seaquarium is $39.95 for adults and $29.95 for children ages 3 to 9.
Win-win with free music at the casino
Miami’s casinos are turning out to be some of our best – and least expensive – concert venues. At Casino Miami Jai-Alai this weekend, you have two opportunities to hear local bands free. On Friday night at 8 p.m., you can hear Driving Force with Lee Johnson play R&B, funk and blues. At 9 p.m. Saturday, Palenke will turn up the Latin vibe with bassist Omar Hernandez and percussionist Manolo Torres .
Don’t be a twit when you tweet
Sunday is Social Media Day in Miami, part of an international Social Media Day organized by Mashable. The Miami event will be noon to 5 p.m. in the Adrienne Arsht Center, Knight Concert Hall. More than 50 speakers will talk about everything from Twitter to Instagram. The event is free, but you’re encouraged to register for Miami Social Media day in advance.
Prieto’s Restaurant is launching their brand new menu! Goodbye to all of our lunch and dinner dishes that were no longer making the cut. Head Chef Carlos has a new menu that is inspired by Miami. American Cuisine with a Latin influence. For example the new dish below is a steak sandwich. The steak is served with lettuce, tomato and red onion but the steak was marinated a lime cilantro combination and is served between two slices of fried plantain.
An instant favorite will be the 305 burger which combines hamburger meat with chorizo sausage. Don’t worry, the new menu won’t break the bank either. In fact, our best deal is three homemade empanadas stuffed with shrimp for just six bucks. A new menu will be added shortly to The Regency website. Have you tried the new menu? What do you think? Write us on Facebook.

Yep, that’s a plantain not bread.
Chef Carlos went insane genius on this one. A bacon infused dressing… trust me on this one.
Demand for our Dolphin Mall daily shuttle was through the roof on the Friday before Easter. Guests looking to shop from all across the world crowded the lobby, much to our surprise there around 100 people waiting gathering before the normal departure time.
Unfortunately, we run shuttles to the airport every 30 minutes and wouldn’t have enough drivers to accommodate all of our guests. Management was notified and then….
Without blinking an eye, our very own Jose Miguel (Guest Services Director) abandoned his desk and jumped into one of our shuttles in order to make sure no guest was stuck in the lobby waiting.
Thanks for your commitment to our guests Jose Miguel! Let us know how we can help you plan your shopping adventure in Miami!
We have finally added a wordpress blog site to the Regency Hotel Miami’s website! After not being able to share everything with what was happening on the property, we decided this was the easiest way to keep our guests posted on all of the happenings at the hotel.
We’ll start posting about the following:
- What is going in Miami
- Regency deal’s from free upgrades like welcome drinks, and free night stays to pure discounts on our rooms.
- Changes we are making in the hotel (which are so exciting)
- and any other awesomeness that is going on around here that is relevant to our guests.
Thank you so much for being our guest, I know you are going to be very excited to learn about everything that is going here at the hotel.
