Two major attractions are offering discount admission this weekend, and several museums are offering free days. Plus, it’s the first Friday of the month with gallery walks in Coral Gables, downtown Miami, Coconut Grove and South Beach.

Free chamber music concerts
Music in Miami kicks off its Three Sundays in July 2013 series of free concerts at 6 p.m. Sunday with classical guitarist Jose Lezcano at Trinity Cathedral in Miami. Music in Miami’s Woodwind Quintet will perform July 14, and a dozen musicians will join for a concert on July 28. Admission is free but donations are accepted.
$5 days at ZooMiami (and more)
ZooMiami is celebrating Independence Day weekend with its popular $5 days promotion this weekend. Admission is $5 for all July 4-7, plus there will be free samples of juice drinks and ice cream some days. If you’d like to see even more animals, patrons wearing Miami Heat gear get into the Miami Seaquarium for half price through July 7, but you must mention the Miami Heat promotion before you buy your ticket.
Beat the heat with free museum visits
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is open free all day Saturday. The Miami Science Museums is free Friday night with a planetarium show. The Wolfsonian is free every Friday night, with a guided tour at 6 p.m. If you have a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card, you can get free admission for one person Saturday or Sunday to the Miami Children’s Museum, Miami Science Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami or the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach. In Broward, card holders can get free entry to the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science, the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale and the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum in Dania Beach.
Walk, talk, see art, play golf
Four regular art walks are this weekend, in Coral Gables and downtown Miami on Friday and Coconut Grove and Lincoln Road in Miami Beach on Saturday. As part of Gables Gallery Night, the Coral Gables Museum will be free Friday night, inaugurating three exhibits, including a unique mini-golf course and a collection of photos by locals of Coral Gables called Capture Coral Gables.
Jazz along the River walk
This Sunday is the free monthly Suntrust Sunday Jazz Brunch along the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk, though you have to bring or buy your own brunch. But the jazz part is free. Musicians perform on three stages, and you can set up your picnic along the Riverwalk or buy food from local restaurants. You can hear Trilogy with Willian Pennhouse on the Esplanade Stage: Billy Bones with Justni Trapani at the Connie Hoffmann Gazebo and the Randy Corinthian Jazz Quartet at the Las Olas Riverfront.
